Water Filtration Training Scheduled in Padibe for May 31-June 7

We have firmed up our schedule for the Water Filtration Training to be held at 4 sites throughout the Padibe area from May 31 through June 7!

The water filters that will be constructed during the training are the same type that were made in Novemeber when the Three Holy Women team was in Padibe.  They are inexpensive sand filters made from locally available materials, and they can make clean drinking water out of even very dirty surface water.  They are ideal for people that have access to surface water, who might otherwise have to walk a long distance to a borehole.

About 44 filters will be made as part of the training, but the important point is to train people in how to make them so they can continue to make more after the training is done.    Scott Rumpsa from Aqua Clara will be leading the training.  Aqua Clara is a phenomenal organization that helps people build these water filters around the world, including in other sites in Uganda and in Kenya.  www.aquaclara.org

Interested people should contact Tommy Oyet in Padibe.
