When you sit down to eat, pray this Ugandan table blessing:
Bless you, O Lord, as we sit together. Bless the food we eat this day. Bless the hands that made the food. Bless us o Lord. Amen.

When you sit down to eat, pray this Ugandan table blessing: Bless you, O Lord, as we sit together. Bless the food we eat this day. Bless the hands that made the food. Bless us o Lord. Amen. In November, a few Three Holy Women parishioners will visit our sister parish in Northern Uganda. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Shawn Alexander immediately at 999 999-9999. Or, if you would like to support us through prayer, donations, or logistical help, let Shawn know. We’ll be communicating more about the trip in future months. The military conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues, trying to root the LRA out of the deep jungle. But Ugandan troops have left DRC at the request of Congolese government, leaving only Congolese and UN forces working to capture Kony and what is left of the LRA. Vicious LRA attacks on Congolese civilians have continued as the LRA seem to have become the DRC’s problem now. President Obama appointed Johnnie Carson as lead African diplomat. Carson has been the US Ambassdor to Uganda, and promises to focus on the LRA situation with renewed administration support, so this is good. Violent land disputes in Northern Uganda are a major obstacle to stability as people try to piece together a new beginning. |
